Reminders for iMSSA Testing:
- Student enrollment/rostering is available as soon as the portal is open for the new school year except during the times the portal has to be down for maintenance which happens a few times a year.
- DTCs/STCs can either use the (opens in new tab) bulk upload process based on each administration timeline or enter students manually or a combination of both throughout the testing window for student rostering/student enrollment.
- The iTester kiosk is not required for iMSSA interims; however, there exists the option to do so, in which case, please follow the best practices for kiosk installation found in the (opens in new tab) Kiosk Installation Guide and be sure to refer to the latest (opens in new tab) technology guidelines for the current school year.
- There are (opens in new tab) online video tutorials available for some key tasks to perform in the iTester portal.
- The online reports are available in (opens in new tab) Data Interaction within 24 hours.
- For final reports availability in Data Interaction and Family Portal, refer to the key dates document posted on the Help & Support site.
State-Provided Interim Assessment
All New Mexico districts and charter schools serving grades 3–8 will continue to administer either a locally procured or the state-provided interim assessment (iMSSA) at the beginning-of-year (BOY), middle-of-year (MOY), and end-of-year (EOY) testing administration windows for the purposes of benchmarking student progress.
- This interim data must be tied to the NM School DASH Annual and 90-Day Plan for all schools.
- Please keep in mind the reference to state-specified interim assessments for designated schools in CSI and CSI-MRI status on PED’s recent (opens in a new tab) (April 2025) communication to LEAs as noted in the image below.

If you need to use an accommodated paper version of the iMSSA BOY, MOY or EOY tests, please click on the button below.
Please note that the accommodated test forms are only available by administration window. For example, if you need a Large Print version of the iMSSA online test for BOY iMSSA, MOY iMSSA, and EOY iMSSA, you would request it for each administration window since they will only be available when each administration window opens.
